This months speaker will be Captain Mike Downey of Relentless Grind Guide Service. Captain Mike will be discussing Sturgeon Fishing on the St. Clair River. The Sturgeon season this year opens July 16th. This seminar is timely and will provide attendees a ton of insight on Sturgeon fishing!!

About Our Speaker

My names Mike Downey I'm the Captain and owner of Relentless Grind Guide Service. I've been Sturgeon Fishing the St. Clair River going on my 8th year. The season opens July 16th and ends March 15th for catch and immediate release. July 16th through September 30th there is a slot limit inbetween 42-50 inches and the limit is 1 per year.

ABOUT THE D.W.F.

The Downriver Walleye Federation was organized to unite walleye fishermen that ply the Detroit River and Lake Erie, for the purpose of exchanging ideas and information about perhaps the finest walleye fishing in the world. DWF presents quality seminars at its general membership meetings, held on the 3rd Monday of every month. Past speakers include Mark Martin, the 1990 In-Fisherman World Walleye Champion, Tom Huggler, one of Michigan’s most respected outdoor writers and camping editor for Outdoor Life, Denny Geurink of Field and Stream, plus top charter boat captains and local anglers. Our programs are outstanding.

Throughout the year, DWF members engage in walleye tourneys against other members. Tourney fees are low, but the level of competition is high. From river jigging to handline trolling and deep water walleye tactics on Lake Erie, DWF members can do it all and are willing to share their techniques with other members.

All DWF members receive a monthly issue of our newsletter, the EYE CATCHER, which contains up-to-date information on local fishing as well as club sponsored activities.
